EuroBrits Bulgaria The Bulgarian government has approved the legislation implementing the Withdrawal Agreement and the Migration Authorities are now processing applications for the new permits for UK nationals and their family members. The AIRE Centre is here to help UK nationals who moved to Bulgaria before 1 January 2021 secure their residence status now that the UK has left the EU. If you require assistance with this process, contact us at [email protected]. We are also operating a phone helpline for those who do not have access to emails or the internet between 3:30pm and 6:30pm local time Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you or anyone you know is in this situation, please call +359 2906 0713 31 March 2021 marks 90 days since the end of the transition period. This is a significant date for UK nationals who have been in Bulgaria since 1 January 2021 and who do not intend to become residents there as it marks the end of the 90 day period that you are allowed to stay in Bulgaria as a British citizen without a visa. However, for those UK nationals who were legally residing in Bulgaria before 1 January 2021 this limit does not apply, even if you do not yet have a residence permit for UK nationals. We encourage anyone who falls into this category to apply for a residence permit for UK nationals as soon as possible. Information Sheets We are producing a series of information sheets designed to provide practical information to UK nationals seeking to secure their residence in Bulgaria. We want these sheets to be as helpful as possible and want to know if they have supported you in obtaining a residence permit or if they have assisted you to help someone else do so. Please help us to improve our service by giving us feedback on these resources HERE.
