EuroBrits Greece

The EuroBrits Greece project helped UK nationals who moved to Greece before 1 January 2021 with securing their residence status now that the UK has left the EU. The AIRE Centre implemented the EuroBrits Greece project until the end of November 2021.

UK nationals who were legally residing in Greece before 1 January 2021 do not have to abide by the 90 days in every 180 day period with respect to their residence in Greece. However, they should apply for the new residence permits as soon as possible.

If you are a UK national who moved to Greece before the end of the year 2020, you can read our information sheets for more information on the procedure and documentation necessary for a successful application.

You can visit our EuroBrits Residence Guide where you can find concise information on the Withdrawal Agreement. You can also take a quick quiz to find out whether you are a beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement by clicking here.

Information Sheets

We have produced a series of information sheets designed to provide practical information to UK nationals seeking to secure their residence in Greece. We want these sheets to be as helpful as possible and want to know if they have supported you in obtaining a residence permit or if they have assisted you to help someone else do so. Please help us to improve our service by giving us feedback on these resources HERE.

NOTE that all of the following information sheets were accurate on 30 November 2021. We have not updated our information sheets since the end of the EuroBrits Greece project.

1. What does the Withdrawal Agreement mean for UK nationals in Greece?

2. Biometric residence permits - competent authorities, required documents and relevant processes

3. How to pay the administrative fee (paravolo) when applying for a biometric residence permit

4. Biometric residence permits for family members of UK nationals

5. How can UK national beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement renew their Greek biometric residence permits?

6. How does the residence status of UK nationals affect their rights to healthcare in Greece during the Coronavirus pandemic?
