EuroBrits Greece Important Announcement The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office is winding down the United Kingdom National Support Fund under which assistance has been provided to UK nationals in EU and EEA states who needed help to secure their residence rights after the UK left the EU. So, the EuroBrits Greece project will end on 30 November 2021. We will not be able to take on any new requests for assistance after the end of October 2021. However, we will continue responding to simple queries until the end of November 2021. We strongly encourage UK nationals who require our assistance with securing their residence rights under the Withdrawal Agreement to contact us by 31 October 2021. The AIRE Centre is here to help UK nationals and their family members who moved to Greece before 1 January 2021 apply for the new biometric residence permits. If you require assistance with this process, contact us at [email protected]. We are also operating a phone helpline for those who do not have access to emails or the internet. The line is open from 4:30pm to 6:30pm local time on Mondays and Wednesdays and 11am to 1pm local time on Tuesdays. If you or anyone you know is in this situation, please call 0030 698 85 91 229 31 March 2021 marks 90 days since the end of the transition period. This is a significant date for UK nationals who have been in Greece since 1 January 2021 and who do not intend to become residents there as it marks the end of the 90 day period that you are allowed to stay in the Schengen area as a British citizen without a visa. However, for those UK nationals who were legally residing in Greece before 1 January 2021 this limit does not apply, even if you do not yet have a biometric residence permit. We encourage anyone who falls into this category to apply for a biometric residence permit as soon as possible. The AIRE Centre has also launched a EuroBrits Residence Guide where you can find concise information on the Withdrawal Agreement. You can now take a quick quiz to find out whether you are a beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement by clicking here. Information Sheets We are producing a series of information sheets designed to provide practical information to UK nationals seeking to secure their residence in Greece. We want these sheets to be as helpful as possible and want to know if they have supported you in obtaining a residence permit or if they have assisted you to help someone else do so. Please help us to improve our service by giving us feedback on these resources HERE.
