Fjölnisdóttir and others v Iceland

The AIRE Centre has submitted a written intervention in the case of Fjölnisdóttir and others v Iceland. We call on the Court to ensure that the best interests of the child are accorded, at a minimum, the primacy that is set out in Article 3 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in any decision on legal parentage.

Landmark decision in J.D. and A v. The United Kingdom

The UK’s bedroom tax has been found to be unjustifiably discriminatory in the case of a victim of domestic violence who had been placed in social housing under the “Sanctuary Scheme”. The European Court of Human Rights made the ruling on 24th October 2019 in a landmark decision. The AIRE Centre intervened in the case.
