Gender Equality and Discrimination on the Grounds of Sex: A guide on the relevant jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights The AIRE Centre's new guide: "Gender Equality and Discrimination on the Grounds of Sex: A guide on the relevant jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights" has now been published in: English Albanian BCMS Macedonian The Guide, authored in collaboration with ECtHR Judge Ivana Jelić, provides an overview of the relevant international instruments and the case law of the ECtHR in respect of gender equality. Topics range from obligations to prevent and investigate incidents of domestic and gender based violence, through to protections against discrimination on the basis of sex in the context of access to work, healthcare and social welfare assistance. It is hoped that the guide will serve as a practical tool, to assist practitioners in the region to bring legal claims against discrimination and to assist judges in the region to incorporate such principles within their judgments.
