Hannah Smith

Legal Project Manager & Solicitor

Hannah is a solicitor and Legal Project Manager at the AIRE Centre and has been associated with the organisation since 2019. Hannah represents EEA nationals and their family members in social security and deportation appeals before the First-tier and Upper Tribunal, assists with complex applications to the EU Settlement Scheme and contributes to the AIRE Centre’s third-party interventions before the UK and European Courts. She also works as part of the AIRE Centre’s Western Balkans Rule of Law Programme and contributes to publications produced by the team, such as the recent guide “Covid-19 and the Impact on Human Rights”.

Hannah holds a degree in Law and French Law from the University of Oxford and a Certificate in French Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. She also holds a Master's in Law (the BCL) from the University of Oxford, specialising in Comparative Human Rights, Comparative Public Law and Criminal Justice and State Security. Prior to joining the AIRE Centre, Hannah worked as a solicitor in the public law litigation team at Herbert Smith Freehills, during which time she also carried out pro bono work for the AIRE Centre.
