The UK once saw fit to assist and facilitate entry to its labour market for EEA nationals, typically by way of Jobseeker’s Allowance. However, the introduction of Universal Credit has brought this to an end. The result is that where before EEA nationals were entitled to claim JSA (income-based), this entitlement has all but been withdrawn for new entrants, and even for those within their first couple of years of work in the UK.
