In cooperation with the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and with the support of the British Embassy in Sarajevo, the AIRE Centre and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are organising on 25 May 2021 the Fourth Annual Conference of the Judicial Forum for Bosnia and Herzegovina devoted to Publicity and Transparency of the Judicial SystemEuropean Standards and Practice in BiH. 


The Conference, which will be held in Sarajevo, will be attended by representatives of the highest BiH courts, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, the Personal Protection Data Agency in BiH and media.

Robert Spano, the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Lord Robert Reed, the President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and Faris Vehabović, a European Court of Human Rights judge will join in the Conference via video link.

The participants in the two panels will discuss the transparency of the highest BiH courts, their outreach practices and the challenges they face, and media coverage of the courts' work. The panellists will also discuss access to information in courts, public interest and the right to protection of privacy. The Judicial Forum will provide the participants with the opportunity to share their thoughts on how the courts can improve their communication practices and how the media can improve their coverage of the courts’ work.

The Judicial Forum aims to promote the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights, foster cooperation among the highest courts on the continuous development of the rule of law and human rights and facilitate BiH's EU accession efforts.
