Migrants in London

With support from City Parochial Foundation (now Trust for London), the AIRE Centre launched a project in 2008 to assist London's migrant community to assert their rights under European law.  The project involves providing second-tier advice to other lawyers and advisers in London assisting migrants who may have rights under EU law.  These include, for example, migrants from other EU Member States who may have difficulty accessing benefits or clarifying their residence rights.  It also includes those migrants trying to assert their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights or the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings.

If you are an adviser working with migrants in the capital, get in touch, either for advice or just to let us know generally the kinds of problems the people you work with are facing.  You can contact Adam Weiss.
